Biography
Born on June 12, 1921 in the village of Ohrimovka, now Akimovsky District, Zaporizhia Region of Ukraine, in a working class family. Ukrainian .
Vera’s childhood passed near Kerch, in the working village of the Voikov plant, where her father worked. Mother was a housewife, raised six children.
She graduated from the 9th grade of school number 17 of the city of Kerch. She graduated from the 2nd year of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute .
In the Red Army since 1941 . She mastered the specialty of a navigator. In the army since May 1942 . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942.
Navigator of the 46th Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment ( 325th Night Bomber Aviation Division , 4th Air Army , 2nd Belorussian Front ) [1] .
Participated in the battle for the Caucasus , the liberation of the Kuban, Crimea and Belarus , inflicted bombing attacks on enemy military facilities in East Prussia . By August 1944, she made 813 night flights .
On the night of August 25, 1944, a plane in which V. Belik, together with the commander of the guard’s crew, Lieutenant Makarova T.P. was returning from a combat mission, was attacked and shot down by an enemy fighter, northwest of the city of Zambrow ( Poland ). The plane caught fire and fell to the ground burning, the crew died.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 23, 1945, to the lieutenant Belik Vera Lukyanovna ’s guard “for exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism” , the title of Hero of the Soviet Union was posthumously awarded with the Order of Lenin and the medal “ The Golden Star ” [2] [3] .
She was buried in the Polish city of Ostroleka .
