Michael (Mike) Ricci ( born Michael “Mike” Ricci ; October 27, 1971 ; Scarborough , Canada ) is a Canadian hockey coach, formerly a professional Canadian hockey player, center forward. He spent 16 seasons in the NHL, in which he played 1099 matches in the regular championships and 110 matches in the playoffs. The Canadian national team is a 1994 world champion. Winner of the 1996 Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche .

Game career
In the 1990 draft, he was selected in the first round by the Philadelphia Flyers club.
On June 30, 1992, Philadelphia traded Ricci, defenders Steve Duchenne and Kerry Huffman , forwards Peter Forsberg and Chris Simon , goalkeeper Ron Hekstoll , 1993 pick in the first round of the draft, 1994 pick in the first round of the draft and cash compensation of 15 million dollars in Quebec Nordics on striker Eric Lindros [1] . June 21, 1995, in connection with the relocation of the Quebec Nordics team to Denver , Ricci became a Colorado Avalanche player [1] .
On November 21, 1997, the Colorado Avalanche traded Ricci and the 1998 pick in the second round of the San Jose Sharks pick for striker Sean Donovan and the 1998 pick in the first round of pick [1] .
On July 9, 2004, Ricci, as a free agent, transferred to Phoenix Coyotes [1] . He missed most of the 2006/07 season due to a neck injury [1] . On August 13, 2007, Ricci announced his retirement as a player [1] [2] .
Coaching career
On August 21, 2007, Ricci was appointed hockey operations adviser to the San Jose Sharks [3] . On July 23, 2008 he was transferred to the position of player development coach [4] .
