Artistic Features

A columnist for Rossiyskaya Gazeta believes the film was shot in the manner of Chekhov’s drama; he is "refined and intelligent", but not in transcendental philosophies, but in the manner of the characters to communicate, listen and hear each other. Stylistically, the tape is sustained in the spirit of cinema of the 1950s: the corresponding play of the actors, the abundance of pavilion filming, the musical arrangement based on little-known songs of that period [2] .

Criticism

In addition to numerous awards, the picture received a number of negative criticisms. The reviewer of the c-portal Media Holding C-MEDIA Evgeny Ukhov called it “a dreary-nostalgic, toothless immersion in the post-Stalin past” [3] . All-Russian parental resistance (not formally being a cinema science source) in its examination of the film accuses him of developing and reinforcing “aggressive behavior in children and adolescents”, as well as of discrediting veterans of the Great Patriotic War and some symbols of the socialist era [4] . Alexander Adabashyan, in response to criticisms, said that “Dog Paradise” is just the world that children build for a dog. There is no Aesopian language , allusions to the existing regime in the picture, and if they are read, then by pure chance. “These are childhood memories. Whoever says anything, and most of the people remember childhood as a wonderful time ... The picture is not very joyful. This is not to say that everything is good and fun ends there. There are good and bad moments in life. But their perception is always different. To show humanity, the whole palette of human emotions - this is what we strove for ” [5] .
