Biography
Born July 16, 1925 in the village of Krutoe , Tula Region, in a peasant family [1] [2] Father - Pyotr Tikhonovich Anikeev, a blacksmith at a defense enterprise in Moscow. [2] .
In 1944-1948 he served in the Soviet Army. In 1953 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Oriental Studies . In 1956-1982 he was a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences has gone from a junior researcher to the head of the sector of Eastern philosophy [1] [2] .
In 1957, he defended a dissertation at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR on the subject “Materialism and Atheism of the Sankhya System of the Early Middle Ages” [3] .
In 1971, at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic "On Materialistic Traditions in Indian Philosophy" [1] [2] [4] .
Since 1982 - professor and head of the Department of Philosophy of the State Central Institute of Physical Culture [1] .
He was buried at the Pyatnitsky cemetery in Moscow . [2]
Scientific activity
Compiler, translator of a number of texts and the author of preliminary comments on the texts “Indian Philosophy”, “Anthologies of World Philosophy” (T. 1, Part 1. - M., 1969) [1] .
He studied the works of Muhammad Iqbal , Swami Vivekananda , Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan , Debiprasad Chattopadhyaya , as well as the materialistic traditions of ancient Indian philosophy, modern interpretations of Indian philosophical heritage.
