Koblar, Andrey

Andrei Koblar ( Slovenian. Andreja Koblar ), nee Grašić ( Slovenian. Grašič ; September 2, 1971 , Kranj , SFRY , now Slovenia ) - former Slovenian biathlete . Moved to biathlon from skiing in 1993. Participant of 3 Olympics and 8 World Championships , winner of the World Cup .

Career

World Cup

Performances in the Biathlon World Cup began in the 1993/1994 season . In the 1994/1995 season, she first hit the top ten in the sprint at the stage in Bad Gastein . In the same season, for the first time, she climbed the podium at the stage in Lahti, taking second place in the individual race. The first victory was won in the 1995/1996 season at the World Cup in Osrblie in the individual race. The same season was the most successful for her. According to its results, she took 4th place in the overall standings of the World Cup . The last full season for Andrei was the 2005/2006 season, in which she took 75th place in the overall standings . In the 2006/2007 season, she held the only and her farewell race in her native Pokljuka . World Championship

Closest to the prize podium Andrei got at the 1999 World Championships in Holmenkollen , where she took 4th place in the mass start. The last time she participated in the World Championships in 2005 in Hochfilzen , at which her highest achievement was 38th place in the pursuit.

Olympic Games

The first Olympic Games were for her the games in Lillehammer in 1994 . There, Andrei did not perform very well, taking 18th place in the sprint and 24th in the individual race. She performed much better at the Nagano Olympics in 1998 . In the individual race, she showed the highest speed at a distance and before the last shooting range had excellent chances to get into the medalists. In the case of one miss, she got on the podium, and in the case of clean shooting she became the winner. As a result, Andrei missed twice and took 5th place. This result was her highest achievement at the Olympics. In 2002, in Salt Lake City, in the pursuit of Andrei, almost the entire race was held in 4th place near the leaders, but the only miss with the last 20th shot threw her outside the first six and she finished 8th. The last Olympic race in her career was the women's relay in 2002 , in which she and the team took 6th place.

Personal life

Andrei is married to Slovenian skier Jernei Koblar and works as an instructor in the Slovenian army. He lives in Križe ( Slovenian. Križe ) in Slovenia.
