Content
History
It was first mentioned in the scribe books of the Shelonsky Pyatina of 1498, as the village of Novoe on Luga, in the Peredolsky graveyard of Novgorod district [2] .
On the map of the St. Petersburg province of F.F. Schubert in 1834, the village of New Selo is mentioned, consisting of 30 peasant households [3] .

According to a map from the “Historical Atlas of the St. Petersburg Province” of 1863, the village was called New Village [7] .
In the XIX century, the village administratively belonged to the Peredolsky volost of the 2nd zemsky section of the 1st camp of the Luga district of St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the XX century - the 4th camp.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, the village was called New Selo-1 and was part of the Novoselsky Rural Society [8] .
From 1917 to 1924, the village was part of the Novoselsky Village Council of the Peredolsky Volost of the Luga County.
Since February 1924, as part of the Toroshkovsky village council.
According to the topographic map of 1926, the village of New Selo-1 was part of the general village of New Selo and consisted of 33 yards .
In 1928, the population of the village was 232 people [9] .
According to 1933, the village of Novoye Selo I was part of the Toroshkovsky village council [10] .
From August 1, 1941 to January 31, 1944, the village was under occupation.
In 1958, the population of the village was 74 people [9] .
According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Novoe Selo I was also part of the Toroshkovsky village council [11] [12] [13] .
In 1997, 20 people lived in the village of Novoe Selo of the I Toroshkov volost, in 2002 - 26 people (all Russians) [14] [15] .
In 2007, 20 people lived in the village of Novoe Selo-1 of the Dzerzhinsky Joint Venture [16] .
Geography
The village is located in the southeastern part of the district on the highway 41K-142 ( Luga - Medved ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 25 km [16] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Luga is 26 km [11] .
The village is located on the left bank of the Luga River.
