The 176th Berlin Red Banner Fighter Aviation Regiment ( 176th IAP ) is a military unit of the Air Force of the Red Army, which took part in the hostilities of the Great Patriotic War and became part of the Russian Air Force.

The 176th fighter aviation regiment began to form on March 27, 1941 in the Moscow military district at the Lyubertsy airfield as part of the 24th fighter air division of the MVO Air Force on the basis of the 11th, 16th, 24th and 34th IAPs as part of the 5th ty squadrons. Having not completed his formation (he had 18 pilots and 26 I-16s in combat), on June 22, 1941 he entered combat operations against fascist Germany and its allies as part of the 6th air defense force of the Moscow air defense zone.

Disbandment of the Regiment

The 176th Berlin Red Banner Fighter Aviation Regiment on March 26, 1993, due to the collapse of the USSR, was withdrawn to the Bagai-Baranovka airfield in the Saratov Region and after the disbandment, the 283rd Iad was disbanded.
