Volta
Volta ( Italian volta - turn , time ) is a musical term, one of the types of musical abbreviation used to indicate a part of a musical work that is repeated with some changes.
Designation in musical notation
If during the repetition the end of a given part or the whole musical piece changes, then a square horizontal bracket is placed over the changing measures . A reprise sign is placed next to them, then measures are written that are executed during repetition, and a square bracket is also placed above them. Under the brackets put the notation: 1. and 2. - the first volt and the second volt, that is, for the first time and second time. Volt can be more than two, their number is determined by the number of repetitions provided by the composer .
