Basic Information
The hydroelectric power station is a low-pressure riverbed waterworks, due to the limited ability to regulate the flow, the waterworks is designed to generate electricity, improve the conditions of navigation on the site of the reservoir. Together with the Santo Antonio hydropower plant, it forms the cascade of hydropower plants under construction in Madeira , which, after completion, will have to be located in two countries, in Brazil and Bolivia .
The hydropower plant is located in the river gauge with an average annual flow rate of 17,686 m³ / s, the guaranteed installed capacity according to the project is 2,185 MW , which corresponds to an average annual output of 19.142 billion kWh or KIUM station 58.3% [2] [4] .
The total cost of the two projects of the Santo Antoniu and Girau hydropower plants is USD 15.6 billion, of which 5 billion are expenses for the construction of ship passing facilities and infrastructure development [3] .
The reservoir area is 258 km 2 .
