USC was established in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 394 of March 21, 2007 “On the Open Joint-Stock Company United Shipbuilding Corporation” [3] . The company was registered in mid-November 2007 . [four]

History

For the first time, the idea of ​​creating the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) became known at the end of 2006. This is one of a number of newly formed state corporations designed to stimulate the development of various industries. The task of USC is to stimulate the development of civil shipbuilding.

On March 21, 2007, Presidential Decree No. 394 of the Russian Federation , On the Open Joint-Stock Company United Shipbuilding Corporation, was signed. By decree, USC should include all state shipbuilding assets - FSUEs after corporatization and state-owned shares of large private shipbuilding enterprises.

Formally, USC was established in 2007, registered in St. Petersburg. The head of the board is Sergey Naryshkin . In May 2008, when Russian Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin convened his first steering meeting, it was decided that Igor Sechin would head the USC board of directors.

The formation of the USC was completed in 2010 [5] .

May 24, 2019 at the shipyard "Lotos", part of the USC, launched the first (in the post-Soviet era) Russian-made tourist airliner called "Peter the Great" [6] .

Activities

The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) will include all state shipbuilding assets and state blocks of shares in private companies. The corporation will produce warships and civilian vessels. Its structure includes three regional subholdings: [7]

  • Northern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair ( Severodvinsk ),
  • Western Shipbuilding Center ( St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad ),
  • Far Eastern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair ( Vladivostok ).
  • South Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair ( Astrakhan )

In 2008, the loss of USC amounted to 9 billion rubles, in 2009, net profit amounted to 92 million rubles. [7]

On November 01, 2010, USC and the French shipbuilding association DCNS signed an agreement on creating a consortium in the field of military and civil shipbuilding. The goal of the consortium is joint participation in tenders [9] .
