Afghanistan , Israel , Iraq , Iran , China , Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan , Turkmenistan [1] .

Description

The body is shiny, two-tone: the head and abdomen are black, the chest is red or red-brown. Mesoprodedeal impression deep. Propodeum angular, with spaced hairs. Working ants are 5–9 mm long, females 12–13 mm long, and males 7–8 mm long. Small families (about 300 individuals). Desert view. In Turkmenistan they live in the foothills of the Kopetdag mountains, dry steppe and rocky areas [2] [3] [1] . The species was first described in 1877 by the Austrian worldmecologist Gustav Mayr based on the materials of the expedition of A. P. Fedchenko to Turkestan [4] .
