Morris, Granville

Arthur Greenville Morris ( born Arthur Grenville Morris ; April 13, 1877 - November 27, 1959 ) - Welsh footballer , who played the position of the left forward-insider. Best known for playing for the English club " Nottingham Forest ", in which he is the best scorer in the team's history, as well as for the Wales team .

Club career

Born in the Welsh town of now - now in the unitary administrative unit of Powys . He began his career at the local Bilt Town club, after which he moved to Aberystwyth Town .

In early 1897, Morris joined the English club Swindon Town . He spent the team a year and a half, playing in 50 games and scoring 44 goals. In 1898, he moved to Nottingham Forest for £ 200 [1] . He played in the “Nottingham” until 1913, playing a total of 460 matches and scoring 217 goals. His record for the number of goals for the club has not yet been broken, and he remains the top scorer of Nottingham Forest in history.

Career in the national team

He played for the national team of Wales from 1896 to 1913, playing 21 matches for it and scoring 9 goals. He spent his first match for the national team at the age of 18 against the England team, his last match was on March 11, 1912, also against England [2] .
