Description

Black shiny ants with 4 yellow spots on the abdomen, antennae and stingers reddish-brown, pronotum and legs yellowish. Working ants are 4–5.5 mm long, females 7.3–8.5 mm, males 5.5–6.5 mm. Clypeus with cutting along the front edge. It lives in black fir and cedar-broad-leaved forests, where it builds nests in hollows of living trees [3] [7] [4] .
