The offspring of Pyotr Lazarevich Chizhevsky , the court "tenorist", to whom the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna in 1743 granted the hereditary nobility. The genus is recorded in the first part of the genealogy book of the Vladimir province.
There are several more ancient noble families of Chizhevsky “from the Polish gentry” recorded in the VI and I part of the genealogy book of the provinces of Vilna, Kiev, Koven and Vitebsk, as well as of later origin.
Emblem Description
In a silver field are five flying Siskins of a natural color.
On the shield a noble crowned helmet. Crest: Siskin. The bastard on the shield is green, lined with silver. The coat of arms is included in Part I of the Herbovnik, No. 102.
