The Monda-Orlik highway is the 03K-035 public road of regional importance for the Republic of Buryatia [1] . The length is 153 km. It goes through the territory of Tunkinsky (24 km) and Okinsky (129 km) districts.

History
Until the 1980s, land communications between the Okinsky district and the village of Orlik with the Tunkinsky district and the rest of Buryatia were carried by pack horses along the Oka trail. The minimum travel time from the village of Mondy to the district center of Orlik was 4 days. The construction of a gravel road with numerous bridges across the right tributaries of the Oka River began in 1985. Car traffic was opened in 1993. In 2015, the reconstruction of the highway began. The scheduled completion date is autumn 2016 [2] .
Route
The route route runs in the highlands of East Sayan with an average absolute elevation of 1,500 m. It starts at the southwestern outskirts of the village of Mondy , the extreme western settlement of the Tunkinsky district, offshore to the northwest of the A333 federal highway (Tunkinsky highway) 100 meters after the gas station. It ends in the village of Orlik , the administrative center of the Okinsky district.
Initially, the road goes northwest along the right bank of the Irkut River ; before the confluence of the right tributary, the White Irkut River, the road turns north; Behind the sanctuary of the Nuhu-Daban pass in the Upper Irkut gorge ( Black Irkut ), the route slightly turns to the northeast and goes about 8 km in this direction; opposite the confluence of the left tributary, the Tumelik River, the road turns north; across the Suser River (the right tributary of Irkut), the highway turns to the north-west, and does not change this main direction to Orlik. After the turn, the road runs along the left bank of Suser, then passes a small pass and goes to Lake Okinskoye, from which the road goes down the right bank of the Oka River , crossing numerous right tributaries of the river.
