Li Weihan

Li Weihan ( Chinese trad. 李維漢 , ex. 李维汉 ); June 2, 1896 - August 11, 1984) - one of the main leaders of the Chinese Communist Party during its formation.

Biography

Born in the family of a rural intellectual. In 1916, Li was admitted to the First Hunan Normal University . In 1919 he went to study in France, where he accepted the Marxist ideology. In June 1922, together with Zhou Enlai and Zhao Shiyan, he participated in the creation of a communist party of Chinese youth studying in Europe. In it, Lee was responsible for organizational work.

After the Plenum on August 7, Li joined the CPC Politburo Standing Committee from Jiangsu (and Shanghai). He was a secretary and became one of the main leaders. In 1931 he went to study in the USSR, in Moscow. In 1933 he returned, started to work in Jiangxi . In 1934, he married Jin Weiying.

Together with his wife, he was a participant in the Great Campaign , where he was the commander and political commissar of the Red Order column [1] .

Li Weihan was the first director of the Party School under the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party , a higher education center for party workers and leaders. Li served as its director from 1933 to 1935 and again from 1937 to 1938. He was a member of the 6th Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party. From September 1942 to June 1946, he was a member of the Northwest Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, worked as Secretary General in the government of the Ningxia Border Region.

In 1949-1953 - Secretary General of the Government Administrative Council of the Central People's Government, the first in this position ( Xi Zhongxun became his successor).

In May 1951, he led the Chinese delegation in negotiations with Tibet, while Li served as chairman of the committee on nationalities of the State Administrative Council [2] .

Since 1982, he served as vice chairman of the Central Commission of Advisers to the CCP , whose president was Deng Xiaoping .

  • Wife - Jin Weiying ( Chinese 金 维 映 , formerly Jin Aiqing (at birth), Jin Zhicheng (party name)), Communist since 1926, second wife (since 1931) Deng Xiaoping , broke up with Dan in 1933 after his party study and repentance . Since 1938, at a party study in Moscow, then transferred to a secret Chinese party school in Kuchino , signs of insanity began to appear in early 1940, apparently died during the evacuation of a psychiatric hospital at Stolbovaya station near Podolsky in autumn 1941 [3] .
  • His son is Li Thein (born 1936), a member of the CCP.
