Creation

Bound for Glory is TNA's largest pay-per-view promotion show in which wrestlers participate in various feuds and storylines. Wrestlers personify villains or heroes in the ring. Feuds go in such a way that at first, on ordinary episodes, the situation becomes tense, and already on the wrestling holidays themselves, this or that feud usually comes to its logical conclusion.

The venue for Bound for Glory (2014) became known on June 25, 2014. At a joint press conference between TNA President Dixie Carter and Great Muta President Wrestle-1, it was announced that PPV Bound for Glory (2014) will be held in Tokyo, Japan at the Korakuen Hall arena, which will involve no more than 2,000 people.

Background

TNA announced in advance that Samoa Joe, MVP, Team 3D (Bullie Ray and Devon), James Storm, Great Sanada, Ethan Carter III, Low Key and Abyss [4] will take part in this show. It was originally planned that the Wolves team (Davy Richards and Eddie Edwards) would take part in this show, but they were later replaced by Team 3D [5] .

The following athletes have already been announced from the Wrestle-1 promotion: Great Muta, Tajiri, Kaz Hayashi, Riot Hama, Minoru Tanaka, Kazma Sakamoto, Andy Wu, Panther's Son, Jiro Kuroshio and Yusuke Kodama.

Since June 2014, James Storm entered into confrontation with Sanada, during which he several times faced with a Japanese wrestler behind the curtains. For a couple of weeks in a row, he scoffed at Sanada's mentor, the Great Muta. He weighed Mute a slap in the face, and he did this only in order to morally break Sanada. On July 24, 2014, on an episode of Impact !, Storm entered into a polemic with Muta, called him a scammer, and called himself “Legend”, and later he will replace this word with his old and already accustomed nickname “Cowboy”. After the Storm spat on Muta’s face with his favorite beer, Sanada ran out to the ring and drove James out of the ring, but then, unexpectedly for everyone, Sanada hit his mentor with a chair, and then bowed towards Storm, which led to a rather strange union between wrestlers. The following week, Storm proclaimed himself the new master and mentor of Sanada. The following weeks, the TNA promotion shows videos in which Storm teaches Sanada how to be stronger, he ties him together and tries to break him physically and mentally, while saying: “The Revolution is Coming” [6] [7] . On August 27, on an episode of Impact !, Sanada begins to call himself Great Sanada and is accompanied to the ring under a new name by James Storm himself. That evening, inspired by the inaction of the Great Muta, Sanada, with the help of the Storm, wins in a single fight of Austin Aries. On September 3, on an episode of Impact !, Aries challenged Sanada to the ring and began to tell him that he simply did not have the right to call himself Great Sanada, as there was his mentor, whose name is Great Muta. While Austin poured water into the ears of Sanada and Storm, he also called one of Muta's best friends, Tajiri, to the ring, due to which a brawl ensued in the ring, where Storm and Sanada opposed Eriez and Tajiri. On September 10, in an episode of Impact !, Storm and Sanada defeat Eries and Tajiri in an official team battle. All this mess will end at the 2014 Bound for Glory wrestling festival, where Sanada and his new mentor James Storm will fight in a team battle against the Great Muta and Tajiri.

The promotion also announced that Samoa Joe will defend the title of champion of the X-Division at this event, and Havok the title of female champion of TNA, although in the episodes of Impact Wrestling that preceded the event, neither Joe nor Havok were champions. Moreover, it was originally planned that Low Key would defend the title of the X-Division champion, and the duel between Hevok and Velvet Sky would become a standard 1x1 fight. And Joe and Haywok remained at their champion titles, and both the guy and the girl defeated their rivals thanks to painful techniques [8] .
