AVG Antivirus exists in two versions:
- free antivirus version (AVG AntiVirus FREE)
- paid (commercial) version of the antivirus (AVG AntiVirus and AVG Internet Security)
The main difference between the paid version of the antivirus and the free version is:
- the ability to reconfigure the user interface
- more flexible anti-virus settings for the schedule
- the possibility of obtaining technical support
AVG Antivirus is a fairly reliable and fast-running program [5] . Resident Shield of the program automatically monitors the possible penetration of boot, executable and macro viruses on the computer and takes measures to automatically remove them and disinfect the infected files. E-mail Scanner automatically checks all incoming and outgoing mail. When you turn on the computer, AVG will check the RAM and disk boot sectors, only after which the antivirus will allow the operating system to boot. Further, upon completion of the boot process, AVG will place its icon in the system area, from which, if necessary, it can be easily launched.
Starting from October 15, 2015 AVG Free antivirus increases the amount of data collected on the computer. The manufacturer can be sent information about the applications used, hacker programs, the names of suspicious files, search history and visits to sites on the Internet. Mobile devices also send IMEI, IMSI and location identifiers [6] [7] . AVG reserves the right to transfer the information received to partner companies. The representative of AVG told Wired that users who do not want such use of their impersonal data will be able to disable it "without sacrificing the functionality of the application." [8] .
AVG Antivirus, in fact, is a clone of Avast antivirus using the same interface, technology and scanners.
AVG Antivirus Pro Edition
Commercial Pro version is also divided into two editorial versions: AVG Antivirus Pro and AVG Internet Security. The latter is an antivirus with built-in protection against Internet attacks and threats.
