Jacobyana sudafricana (lat.) - a species of leaf beetles ( Chrysomelidae ) of the genus Jacobyana from the tribe of earthen fleas ( Alticini , Galerucinae ). Africa : South Africa (Eastern Cape Province, Port St. Johns, Silaka Nature Reserve) [1] .

Content
Description
The smallest kind of kind (length about 2 mm) is black (legs are lighter and the tips of the elytra are reddish) with an oval-shaped body, shiny. The maximum width of the pronotum at the base is 1.28 mm, and at the elytra it is 1.71 mm. Possess hopping hind legs with thickened hips. Antennae 11-segmented (3rd segment shorter than the first). 3rd segment of antennae almost equal in length to the 4th and 5th segments combined. Pronotum with a bristle-bearing pore near the middle of the lateral margin. They feed on plants. The species name J. sudafricana reflects the geographical location of the type series [1] [2] .
