Mayer, Kai

Kai Meyer ( German: Kai Meyer ) (born July 23, 1969) is a German prose writer best known for his work in the genre of teenage fantasy . His works have been translated into 30 languages, including English, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese [2] . In Germany, the total circulation of Mayer's books exceeded 1.5 million copies [3] . Based on the historical novel “Das Gelübde” by Dominic Graf, a film of the same name was shot in 2007 [4] .

Biography

Born in the city of Lubeck July 23, 1969, however, his childhood passed in the Rhine region . In 1988, after graduating from school, he devoted some time to studying philosophy, cinema and theater at the Ruhr University College, then left school and got into the newspaper as a trainee journalist. A year later, he became a full-time journalist, having worked in this capacity for another two years. Mayer's first book was published when he was 24, and since 1995 he has been fully committed to his writing career. Currently, the writer is the author of more than 50 books, as well as comics and television scripts [3] .

Bibliography

Several Mayer novels were originally published under the pseudonym Alexander Nix, but were later reprinted under his real name. The bibliography of the writer includes eleven book cycles and a number of separate works [5] .
