Appearance
Body length 46-50 cm, wings 26-35 cm; weight 550β693 g. The male is larger than the female. The plumage is white. Fly wings, tail and cheeks are yellowish. Crest of lemon color, bent up. The perorbital ring is pale blue. The beak is dark gray. Paws are gray. The iris of the male is black, the female is brown with a reddish tint.

It is inhabited by savannas , tropical and floodplain forests , grassy plains, light forests, and cultivated lands. They are kept in small and large flocks. They feed mainly on the tops of trees, sometimes on the ground. During feeding in open areas, 2-3 birds play the role of guards, who, when in danger, fly into the air with a loud screech. They feed on nuts, seeds, fruits, berries, flowers, buds, roots, insects and their larvae. They are a pest of cultural crops.
Reproduction
Nests are arranged in hollows of tall trees growing near water. In clutch 2-3 eggs . Hatching lasts 28-30 days. Both parents hatch eggs. Chicks leave the nest at the age of 3 months, but their parents feed them for another 3-4 weeks.
