Filippov, Igor Vladimirovich

Igor Vladimirovich Filippov (born March 19, 1991 , Krasnodar ) is a Russian volleyball player , the central blocker of the Ufa “Ural” and the Russian team , an international master of sports in Russia [1] .

Career

Igor Filippov was born in the city of Krasnodar, began to engage in volleyball in Volgodonsk . His mother, Elena Filippova, in the past advocated the Volgodonsk “Builder” (now “Impulse”) [2] .

From the age of 16 he played in the Premier League “B” for the Yaroslavl “Builder” - the second team of the club system “Yaroslavich” , which was also the base team of the junior team. In 2009, Igor won a bronze medal at the European Championship among youth in Rotterdam , and in the next two seasons he was one of the leaders of the youth team. In its composition, in September 2010, he became the winner and most valuable player of the continental championship in Belarus , and in August 2011 he won gold and the prize for the best blocker in the world championship in Brazil . The colors of this “youth team”, led by Sergei Shlyapnikov , were defended, along with Filippov, by the future players of the Russian national team Dmitry Kovalev and Alexei Kabeshov .

In the spring of 2009, Igor Filippov held four matches for Yaroslavich in the Super League, and on a regular basis began playing in the strongest division of the Russian championship in the 2011/12 season. In August 2013, he signed a contract with Moscow Dynamo [3] . As part of the capital's team, he won the national championships three times, and in 2015 he also won the European Volleyball Confederation Cup . In July 2017, he moved to the Urals "Ural" .

In the summer of 2015, Igor Filippov became the bronze medalist of the European Games in Baku as part of the second and student national teams of Russia and the champion of the Universiade in Gwangju . On May 25, 2018, he made his debut in the main team , which, after a month and a half, under the leadership of Sergey Shlyapnikov, celebrated the victory in the Nations League 2018 . In most of his matches, Filippov replaced to strengthen the pitch. In July 2019, with the new national team coach, Tuomas Sammelvuo , he again won the gold of the League of Nations .
