The older brother of Tobias is Cristiano , also a professional footballer [1] .
Club career
Tobias is a student of the Sporting club. At the beginning of 2014, in order to gain playing practice, Mariu transferred to the Spanish Reus Deportiu on loan. On February 2, in his match against Sant Andreu , he made his debut in Segund B [2] . On March 23, in a duel against Olot Figueiredo scored his first goal for the team [3] . At the end of the lease, he returned to Sporting. On January 18, 2015, in a match against Rio Ave , Tobias made his debut in the Sangrish League [4] . On February 1, in a duel against Aroka , he scored his first goal for the Lions [5] . In the same year, Figuiredo won the Portuguese Cup with Sporting.
In the summer of 2016, he transferred to Nacional on a rental basis [6] . On August 21, in a match against Aroka, Tobias made his debut for a new club [7] . On August 27, Figueiredo scored his first goal for Nacional in a duel against the capital's Benfica [8] .
At the beginning of 2018, Tobias was leased to the English Nottingham Forrest . On February 17, in his match against Burton Albion , he made his debut in Championship [9] .
International Career
In 2013, Figuiredo, as a member of the Portuguese national team under 19 years old, took part in the Youth European Championship in Lithuania . In the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Spain [10] , the Netherlands [11] , Lithuania [12] and Serbia [13] . In a duel against the Lithuanians, Tobias scored a goal.
In 2015, Tobias won silver medals at the European Youth Championship in the Czech Republic as part of the Portuguese youth team . In the tournament, he played in matches against Germany [14] and twice in Sweden [15] .
In 2016, Tobias, as part of the Portuguese Olympic team, took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . In the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Argentina [16] , Honduras [17] and Germany [18] . In a duel against the Hondurans, Figueiredo scored a goal.
In 2017, Figueiredo took part in the youth national team of Portugal in the European Youth Championship in Poland . At the tournament, he played in a match against the team of Macedonia [19] .
