Scorpionfish [1] ( Lat. Panorpa communis ) is a species of insects from the order of scorpions .

Scorpionfish brown-black with yellow legs and part of the chest, with a reddish proboscis and the end of the abdomen of the male. On the wings of black spots. Body length 13-15 mm, wingspan up to 30 mm.
It is found in almost all of Europe and Russia, usually on bushes and trees. The female lays eggs in the ground, after 8 days the larvae come out, which reach full growth in a month and then dig deeper, making a cavity for pupation, here they lie from 10 days to 2 weeks, then pupate and after 2 weeks turn into an adult insect. During the summer, two generations may develop, of which the latter winters in the larva or pupae stage.
