Biography and Creativity
He wrote the novel "Incest oder der Schutzgeist von Avignon" ( 1799 ), several comedies ("Die Zurückkunft aus Surinam", "Die grossen Kinder", "Die Onkelei", "Der Blitz", "Die Vertrauten", "Die Königin von Golkonde ") And tragedies (" Die Albaneserin "," Der 29. Februar "," Die Schuld "). The last two plays belong to the so-called Schicksalstragödien, in which the decisive role is played by unfortunate days, fatal weapons, gypsy predictions and similar romantic attributes. They are written with great stage knowledge, a brilliant but cold syllable (cf. J. Minor, Die Schicksals-Tragödie in ihren Hauptvertretern, 1883 ).
As a critic, Müllner was merciless and arrogantly picky. His "Vermischte Schriften" appeared in 1824 - 1826 , his "Dramatische Werke" in 1828.
