Biography
Father - judge of the Moscow court of the court Dmitry Mikhailovich Bulyginsky - from chief officer children.
In 1855 he graduated from the 2nd Moscow gymnasium with a gold medal and entered the medical faculty of Moscow University , whose course he successfully completed in 1860 with the title of doctor. During his studies, he worked a lot in the chemical laboratory of Professor N. E. Lyaskovsky and in the chemical-pharmaceutical laboratory of Professor G. A. Givartovsky , in which in 1861-1863 he was a non-staff laboratory assistant. In December 1863, he became a non-staff professor of medical chemistry at Moscow University and until 1865 taught the optional course of analytical chemistry at the medical faculty, and then the required course of inorganic chemistry .
To prepare for the lesson, the department of medical chemistry, established at the university, he was sent on a business trip in the summer of 1865 - he worked in the laboratories of R. Bunsen and E. Erlenmeyer , as well as with F. Goppe-Zeiler . After returning to Moscow at the end of 1868 he defended his thesis for the title of Doctor of Medicine (“On Volatile Acids of Urine”) and was elected assistant professor at Moscow University. In October 1869, he was already an extraordinary professor in the department of medical chemistry. He became an ordinary professor in April 1878. In December 1893 he became a professor emeritus at Moscow University .
Died of stomach cancer; buried at the Vagankovsky cemetery .
A. D. Bulyginsky made a significant contribution to the development of biological chemistry as an educational discipline. He devoted his scientific research to metabolism, digestion chemistry. He also published lecture courses in physiological and pathological chemistry; translated the three-volume "Physiological Chemistry" by Hoppe-Zeiler .
