Bubnov, Sergey Fedorovich

Sergey Fedorovich Bubnov (October 9 ( 21 ), 1851 , Moscow - October 18 ( 31 ), 1909 , Moscow ) is a hygienist , a leading Russian expert at the beginning of the 20th century on the sanitary improvement of cities and water supply.

Biography

The son of an honorary citizen of Moscow . He graduated from the 2nd Moscow Gymnasium . Then he studied at Moscow University - graduated from the Physics and Mathematics (1877) and Medical (1881) faculties. In 1882–1883, at the Munich Hygienic Institute, he worked with M. Pettenkofer , who gave an experimental justification for sanitary measures for cleaning cities. He also worked under the guidance of Professor .

In 1882-1890 engaged in sanitary research of the soil of Moscow, heating of buildings of new clinics of Moscow University in Clinical town on the Devichi field , air ventilation in urban public schools and in gymnasiums of the Ministry of Public Education [1] .

In 1890 he graduated from the writing of capital work - his doctoral dissertation "On the rational arrangement of heating and ventilation" [2] .

In 1895, he became an ordinary professor at Yurievsky University in the Department of State Medical Science, but after a year, due to FF Erisman going abroad, he took up the post of regular professor of hygiene at Moscow University, where until the end of his life he occupied the department of hygiene.

SF Bubnov was the head of the Moscow city sanitary station, the chairman of the Commission for the study of water in the Moscow water supply system.

He was buried in the Novodevichy Convent (between the refectory and the singing chambers).
