Paraguayan-Uruguayan relations are bilateral diplomatic relations between Paraguay and Uruguay .

History
Jose Artigas Gervasio , Uruguay's most famous historical figure, spent the last 30 years of his life in exile in Paraguay. In 1920, in Paraguay, a school was named after him. As a result of the Paraguay war , in which Uruguay, along with Argentina and Brazil, fought against Paraguay, Paraguay was defeated and its losses, according to some estimates, accounted for 90% of the adult male population (population from 525 thousand - 1.35 million people, according to various estimates , before the war decreased to 221 thousand after it ( 1871 ), of which only 28 thousand were adult men) [1] .
As of 2014, bilateral trade between countries was at a high level [2] [3] [4] .
Membership in International Organizations
The countries are founding members of Mercosur , and are also included in: the Rio Group , the Latin Union , the Association of Academies of Spanish , the Organization of American States , the Organization of Ibero-American States , the Union of South American Nations , Urupabol and the Cairns Group .
