Biography

Orthodox. From the nobility of the Kostroma province. The son of a real state councilor. A native of Kostroma .

He graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod Cadet Corps (1906) and the Pavlovsk Military School (1908), from where he was released as second lieutenant in the Life Guards Volyn Regiment . On June 23, 1908 he was appointed junior officer in the 16th company. December 6, 1912 promoted to lieutenant .

He entered the First World War with his regiment. He was awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree

 Because in the battle of March 8–9, 1915, near the village of Buda-Przyseki-Kazennyi, he made a breakthrough of wire fences of the enemy’s position, dragged his own and the neighboring company behind him, the first jumped onto the trench shaft and pierced his defenders with bayonets, capturing machine gun. 

He was wounded on May 8, 1915 and was evacuated for treatment. In May 1916 - company commander in the reserve battalion of the Volyn regiment. He was promoted to headquarters captain on August 1, 1916, to captains on January 29, 1917, and to colonels on August 23, 1917.

In exile in France. He was a senior colonel of the Life Guards Association of the Volyn Regiment, a member of the All-Guard Association and chairman of the Association of the Nizhny Novgorod Count Arakcheev cadet corps.

He died in 1957 in Paris. He was buried in the cemetery of Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois .
