Club career

During his studies at the University of Connecticut, Andrew played for the football team of the educational institution [2] . He also played for the New York Red Bulls youth team in 2010.

At the MLS Superdraft 2012, Jean-Baptiste was selected in the first round under the eighth number by the Portland Timbers club [3] . His professional debut took place on March 12 in the 2012 season start-up match against Philadelphia Union , in which he also scored his first career goal [4] [5] .

In the summer of the same year, on loan, he joined the USL PRO Los Angeles Blues team [6] [7] .

On December 12, 2013, the Portland Timbers traded Jean-Baptista at Jorge Villafaña at Chivas USA [8] . On April 5, 2014, Andrew made his debut for Chivas in a derby against the Los Angeles Galaxy . [9] After playing 10 matches, he was injured, which left him out of the game for two months. After the end of the 2014 season , the Chivas USA club was disbanded.

On January 27, 2015, Jean-Baptist signed a contract with the New York Red Bulls [10] . On April 3, he was declared to the New York Red Bulls II Farm Club [11] . For the first team of “red bulls”, he debuted on June 16 in the US Cup match against Atlanta Silverbacks [12] . On June 26, 2015, the New York Red Bulls expelled Jean-Baptiste [13] .

On August 11, 2016, Andrew signed a contract with the Swedish Nykoping [14] . On August 28, in a match against Forward, he made his debut in the First League of Sweden [15] . On October 9, in a duel against Lulea , Jean-Baptist scored his first goal for Nykoping [16] .

In 2018, Jean-Baptiste played in the second division of Malaysia for the club “ Trenganu II ”.

In February 2019, Jean-Baptist returned to Sweden, signing a contract with the club of the third division “ Umea ” [17] .

International Career

Andrew has Haitian roots, so he made the decision to play for the Haitian team , despite the fact that he played for the U.S. youth team until the age of 18 .

In 2015, Jean-Baptiste took part in the CONCACAF Gold Cup as part of the Haitian team. At the tournament he was a substitute and did not enter the field.

On October 10 of that year, in a friendly match against the national team of El Salvador, Jean-Baptist made his debut for the national team of Haiti [18] .

On January 6, 2017, in the qualifying match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup against the national team of Suriname, he scored his first goal for the national team.

Jean-Baptist was included in the Haitian national team for the CONCACAF 2019 Gold Cup [19] .
