Biography
After graduating from the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum ( 1820 ; 2nd edition), Dmitry Eristov served for some time as an official of the Commission for drafting laws, then as a senior assistant in the Second Department of His Own Imperial Majesty's Chancellery (1826–33). Then he was a translator for the office of the Department of the Ministry of Justice; served in the fleet and was the general auditor of the fleet; from April 29, 1838 - actual state councilor , then he was promoted to secret advisers .
In addition to official, was engaged in literary activities. Eristov was an employee of " Encyclopedic Lexicon ", published in 1835 by Plushar , where he created biographies of many Russian historical figures, articles on the history of Little Russia and the Caucasus, the biographies of some saints and others. Since 1852, he participated in the compilation of the first volumes of the military encyclopedic lexicon, published in St. Petersburg by the society of military men and writers, whose founder and editor-in-chief was Ludwig Zeddler . Also posted their own articles of historical content in magazines and newspapers. He signed his works with pseudonyms D.E. KD E; Prince D.E .; Prince D. E .; Prince Dm ... er ... and others. In 1842, Eristov independently published the Historical Dictionary of the Saints Glorified in the Russian Church, and of some devotees of piety, locally honored (St. Petersburg, 1868), who was awarded the Demidov Prize by the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Died October 9, 1858 ; buried in the village of Bologoe ( Valday district ).

Awards
Among the awards of the Russian Empire, D. A. Eristova had the Order of St. Anne , 1st degree (91849) and the 2nd degree (1830; the imperial crown to the Order - 1833) and the Order of St. Stanislaus , 1st degree (1844).
