Biography
Born on February 23 ( March 8 ), 1913 in the village of Elinsky, Pezhemsky volost, Velsky district, Vologda province (now the Pezhemsky municipal formation of the Velsky district of the Arkhangelsk region ). In the late 1920s, set foot in the Komsomol
In 1930, in search of work, he moved to Murmansk , where he began working at a construction site as an auxiliary worker for seasonal masons. Under the guidance of an experienced brick mason Alexander Tsirin, he quickly mastered the basics of the profession, two years later he began to work independently and began to delve into the intricacies of the matter [1] . Having gained experience, he began to organize work in a new way, set records in brick laying, and reduced the overall construction time without compromising the quality of the buildings being built. For a shift he laid about 5 thousand bricks. In 1935, his team was particularly distinguished by the construction of school number 19 (now school number 12) on Severnaya Street [2] .
Member of World War II . Since September 1941, he served as a sapper in the 325th Rifle Regiment of the 14th Rifle Division of the 14th Army of the Karelian Front . He was engaged in equipping the front line of defense with mine explosive barriers , and in the construction of long-term firing points in the Murmansk direction. He was awarded the medal " For Courage " (1944). From January 1945 - in the 329th Guards Regiment of the 101st Guards Rifle Pechenga Division of the 19th and 2nd Shock Armies of the 2nd Belorussian Front . He liberated Western Belarus , Poland , participated in the East Pomeranian operation , for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Star for the difference (the construction of a bridge over the Stolpe River in combat conditions). He ended the war with the rank of corporal guard [3] .
Having been discharged from the army, he returned to the Murmanrybstroy construction trust. He actively participated in restoration work: he raised the walls of the destroyed houses on the central city highway, closed up the corners of the building of the House of Culture. On October 8, 1946, at the construction on Lenin Avenue, the House of Soviets (where the Murmansk Regional Duma is located today) laid 7,600 bricks per shift, fulfilling the daily norm by 750% and setting a record for the Arctic . His team installed the first large-block building in Murmansk at the exit of Samoilova Street to the Five Corners Square [4] . In 1951 he became a member of the CPSU (b) . From the first post-war years he became a skilled mentor of young builders. So, in the construction of the largest house in Murmansk in 1957, he was instructed to lead a brigade, in which the majority were young men who did not have a profession. The team leader coped with the task, both in the construction of the building, and in the training and education of youth [5] .
For the hard work on the post-war reconstruction of the city and the construction of new housing and social welfare facilities for fishermen, Murmansk was presented with the highest award. By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 9, 1958, for outstanding successes in construction, Alexander Fedorovich Makoveev was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal " Hammer and Sickle " [6] .
In 1962, he transferred to work in the newly created modern house-building plant as a foreman of installers [1] .
In 1964, A. F. Makoveev calculated that in 30 years he had built more than 200 buildings in Murmansk with his team [7] .
Having retired, he lived in Sevastopol ( Crimea ). He died on June 13, 1991, at the 79th year of his life. He was buried on the Alley of Heroes of the Kalfa cemetery in Sevastopol [8] .
