Belarusian-Iranian relations - bilateral diplomatic relations between Belarus and Iran . Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. Belarus has an embassy in Tehran , and Iran has an embassy in Minsk . The two countries maintain good relations, hold regular high-level meetings and sign various agreements. Agreements
In July 2004, a meeting of the Belarus-Iran joint economic commission took place, where an agreement was signed to strengthen mutual economic cooperation [2] .
In April 2006, two countries signed a number of economic and trade agreements [3] .
In November 2006, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited Tehran, where agreements were signed to expand bilateral cooperation [4] [5] .
On May 21-22, 2007, Minsk hosted a meeting between President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad , cooperation agreements and a joint communiqué were signed [6] [7] [8] . President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus and Iran removed all obstacles to bilateral trade [9] . President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that "from now on, Belarusian-Iranian relations will develop in order to ensure stability and security in the world." [10] .
Trading Relations
In 2008, trade between Belarus and Iran amounted to 93.8 million US dollars , Belarusian exports - 83.7 million US dollars , imports - 10.2 million US dollars . The foreign trade surplus amounted to 73.5 million US dollars . Energy Collaboration
