Bryachislav Izyaslavsky

Bryachislav Izyaslavsky (beginning of the XII century - after 1129/1130 , according to other assumptions, after the 1160s , but no later than 1180 ) - Prince Izyaslavsky ( 1127 - 1128 ) from the Polotsk branch of the Rurikovich clan.

The first mention of Bryachislav is contained in the Ipatiev Chronicle under 1127, when the Grand Duke of Kiev Mstislav Vladimirovich went against the Polotsk princes for their refusal to participate in the campaign against the Polovtsy . Bryachislav with a squad surrendered near Logoisk to his brother-in-law Izyaslav Mstislavich . The chronicle reports that Bryachislav went to his father and the attack of the South Russian princes found him on the road, but the chronicle does not name his father. Most of the researchers, from the context of the annalistic article, came to the conclusion that Davyd Vseslavich was the father of Bryachislav. O. Rapov believes that Bryachislav was the Prince of Logozh and Izyaslavl and refers in this to the Ipatiev Chronicle. However, Bryachislav is not titled in it, only from the context you can find out that his court was in Izyaslavl .

According to some indications, he was married to the daughter of Mstislav the Great Xenia.
