Small ants (about 5 mm) are black or dark brown in color, smooth and shiny. The width of the head (HW) is 0.52-0.63 mm, the length of the head (HL) is 0.60-0.72 mm, the length of the scape of the antenna (SL) is 0.55-0.70 mm. Antennae 12-segmented with a mace of 3 segments. The formula of the mandibular and lower labial palps of the palps is 3.2. Multi-pronged mandibles (usually 4-6). The sting is developed. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: petiol and postpetiol. Posterothorax without propodeal teeth. Nest in forest litter, biology not studied. Some other species of the genus are known for specialized social parasites of Attini leaf-cutting ants. The species was first described in 2013 by American worldmecologists Brendon E. Boudinot , Theodore P. Sumnicht ; University of Utah , Salt Lake City , Utah , USA ) and Rachelle MM Adams ; Department of Entomology Smithsonian Institution , Washington , USA). The taxon is included in the species group Megalomyrmex pusillus- group together with the species M. drifti , M. incisus , M. longinoi , M. brandaoi , M. miri , M. osadrifti [1] .
