Ixodes ceylonensis (lat.) - a species of ticks of the genus Ixodes from the family Ixodidae . South Asia Parasites on mammals : among the hosts of rats ( Rattus rattus and Rattus blanfordi ), mongooses , wild cats ( Felis chaus and Felis bengalensis ), monkeys and others. The species was first described in 1950 by the American parasitologist Glen Milton Kohls (Glen Milton Kohls, 1905-1986) ^[1] ^[2] ^[3] ^[4] .

One of the host species: Reed cat ( Felis chaus ), on which ticks Ixodes ceylonensis parasitize.
