City philistine book - a document in which information about urban residents ( inhabitants ) was recorded:
- “Real urban inhabitants” (home and landowners);
- guild merchants ;
- "Guild" (masters, apprentices and students of various crafts);
- “Nonresident and foreign guests”;
- eminent citizens (city and public figures, scientists, bankers , etc. );
- Posadsky (all other residents of the city).
In the philistine book were written:
- name, middle name and last name of the average person;
- age;
- marital status: single, married (then data about his wife were recorded), or widows;
- information about children (names, gender, age);
- property status;
- location;
- professional and social responsibilities.
Maintaining the town philistine book was determined by the city regulations of 1785 .
