“Wed-up” ( cor. 앞역 ) is a ground station of the Seoul metro station on the First Line ( Gyeongwon ). Until 1996, the station was officially named Hwigion .

It is represented by two side platforms. The station on two lines is served by the Korea Railways Corporation ( Korail ) . Located in the Imun-dong quarter of Dongdemungu district, Seoul city ( Republic of Korea ).

The suburban railway station was opened on July 25, 1939 on the Gyeongwon line. On August 15, 1974, the Gyeongwon Line was reorganized and integrated into the Seoul Metro system and became part of the First Line. The metro station was opened as part of the Kvonunda - Suwon section of the first line of the First line on August 15, 1974 (length 54.8 km; only 28 stationsː integrated 2 stations of the Gyeongwon line - Kwanonde and Wed-up , 9 stations were commissioned initially for the metro, 17 stations of others lines).
In close proximity is the University of Foreign Languages Hanguk , because of which the station got its name.
