Gerek Meinhardt ( born July 27, 1990) is an American fencer, bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games in team rapier , world champion, medalist of world championships, four-time winner of the Pan American Games.

Biography
Born in 1990 in San Francisco . He took up fencing from the age of 9, in 2007 he became the youngest US champion in foil fencing.
In 2007 he became the champion of the Pan American Games. In 2008, he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing , but became only 10th in the individual championship. In 2010, he became the bronze medalist of the World Cup. In 2011, he won two gold medals of the Pan American Games. In 2012, he took part in the Olympic Games in London , where the American foiling team became the 4th. In 2013, he became the silver medalist of the World Cup. At the 2015 World Cup he won a bronze medal. In 2017 and 2018, he became the vice world champion in team competitions. In 2019, Gerek helped his team win the first gold medal in the history of the United States in the team rapier.
