On March 29, 2015, the canton was officially abolished according to the directive of February 27, 2014 [1] : the commune of La Garde-Frenet became part of the canton of Le Luc , and the communes of Grimaud , Cogolen , Le Plan de la Tour and Saint-Maxim administratively subordinate to the newly created canton of Saint Maximus .
