Company History

NIIEI OJSC was established in 1946 as the Kudinovsky branch as part of the All-Union Research Institute at the Elektrougli plant. From 1946 to 1950, brushes for aircraft were created in the laboratories of the institute, which made it possible to raise the ceiling of aircraft flight from 6 to 12 kilometers. [four]
In 1957, at the initiative of the Ministry of Electrotechnical Industry, the Kudinovsky branch of the NIIEI was subordinate to the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Electromechanics and received the name VNIIEM Branch, Elektrougli . [5] In the 60s, with the participation of VNIIEI specialists, demulsifiers diproxamine 157-65M, proxanol 305-50, proxamine 385-50, reapon 4B and polyethoxamine were developed to remove water and mineral salts from oil . In 1967, the VNIIEM Branch was transformed into the All-Union Scientific Research and Design Technological Institute of Electric Coal Products (VNIIEM) [8] . In the early 70s, the Institute created an extensive range of new brands of brushes for electrical equipment for various sectors of the economy, including transport and the navy , ferrous metallurgy , aerospace equipment, equipment for power plants, household appliances and power tools. In the 70s, the company developed electric brushes for supersonic interceptors and bombers , which allowed to raise the flight ceiling to 25 kilometers and above. [5] Since 1994, the NIIEI has become the only manufacturer of brushes and brush groups for all types of civil and military aviation equipment in the Russian Federation. [five]

Financial condition

In 2013, the net profit of OJSC NIIEI amounted to 7.97 million rubles. in accordance with RAS , which is 28.69% less than the profit indicator for 2012. Revenue decreased by 16.58% to 225.15 million RUB, while the cost of production increased by 16.37% to 211.35 million RUB. Profit before tax decreased to 10.85 million rubles. compared with 15.21 million rubles. in 2012. [9]

Innovative Development

In 2014, the company developed a “smart” uniform for the military, equipped with a computer, ring heaters of the main vessels made of carbon fiber and temperature sensors , which allows regulating body temperature in difficult climatic conditions of the Russian Federation . [eleven]
In the same year, the Institute for the first time in Russia completed the development of the technology of domestic nanostructured carbon anode material for lithium-ion batteries with high capacitive resource characteristics. [12] Innovative development of the enterprise in this direction allowed creating prototypes of lithium-ion batteries intended for use in a series of Glonass-K spacecraft . [13] Within the framework of the international scientific-practical conference “Special Mobile Radio Communication-2014”, the NIIEI also presented lithium-ion energy storage devices specially designed for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia .
