III ala of the Roman citizens of Asturians ( lat. Ala III Asturum civium romanorum ) - an auxiliary unit of the army of Ancient Rome.
This unit was recruited from the Spanish Asturian people in the period after 70 years. Ala was stationed in the province of Mauritania Tingitan . Her camp was located in the fortress of Tamusida. The unit is mentioned in a number of military diplomas and inscriptions from 75, 88, 100, 108, 118, 122, 131, 136, 137 and 160 years. Ala has the name "civium Romanorum". The emperor usually awarded military units with this honorary title for his valor. The award included granting Roman citizenship to all cohort fighters, but not for subsequent recruits. The division, however, retains the prestigious title for an unlimited period.
