Getting
- Ammonium carbonate powder is added to a solution of rhodium (III) chloride and ammonium chloride (buffer):
- the precipitated crystals are washed with hot hydrochloric acid to wash out [Rh (NH 3 ) 4 Cl 2 ] Cl.
Physical Properties
Chloropentaammaminrodium (III) chloride forms yellow crystals of rhombic syngony , space group P nma , cell parameters a = 1.336 nm, b = 1.046 nm, c = 0.6741 nm, Z = 4 [1] .
Slightly soluble in water.
