History
In 1966-1969 for urban reasons, part of the Volkovka river bed was filled up and replaced by a straight channel running along the embankment of the Vitebsk line of the Russian Railways . There was a need to build a bridge at the intersection of the new street (Belgrade) and the canal. In 1969, a reinforced concrete bridge was erected according to the project of the Lengiproinzhproekt Institute [2] (engineer E. A. Boltunova and architect L. A. Noskov [3] ).
Design
The bridge is single-span, reinforced concrete, frame-console system. The bridge is oblique in plan, the angle of the kosin is 44 °. The span consists of unified precast concrete blocks, monolithic with foundations. Facade spans have a curved outline of the lower zone. The reinforced concrete slab of the roadway is included in the operation of the main beams. The abutments of the bridge are massive of monolithic reinforced concrete on a pile foundation [3] .
The bridge is designed for traffic and pedestrians. The carriageway of the bridge includes 4 lanes for the movement of vehicles. The covering of the roadway and sidewalks is asphalt concrete. The metal railings are completed with granite pedestals on the foundations. The total width of the bridge is 40.8 m, the length of the bridge is 24 m [3] .
