History

The station and the village are named after the Khani river (from the Evenki language : hen - a channel connecting the lake with the river; another version from the Turkic language : khan, khan - village, house, building [6] ).

The station and railway lines were built: from the west of the SMP-576 of the Construction Department "BAMstroyput" [7] , from the east of the SMP-596 of the trust "BAMstroymekhanizatsiya". On May 13, 1982, the “silver” link was laid and the first working train arrived [8] .

Prior to reorganization in the regions on October 1, 2010, it belonged to the Tynda branch of the Far Eastern Railway.

Development Prospects

It is planned to build a railway line 450 km long to Olekminsk [9] [10] .
