The 106th Air Defense Fighter Division ( 106th Air Defense Iad ) is an air defense unit of the Armed Forces of the Red Army , which took part in the operations of the Great Patriotic War .

Division Creation

The 106th Air Defense Fighter Division was formed on December 16, 1941 by the Order of the NPO of the USSR.

Renaming a Division

On October 8, 1950, the 106th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense Force was reorganized into the 50th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense of the 64th Fighter Aviation Corps .

  • The 315th IAP completed combat sorties - 226, the Kuomintang Air Force shot down - 4, its losses (non-combat): 1 La-11 and 1 pilot.

Assigning Guard Titles

  • The 253rd Air Defense Fighter Aviation Regiment for exemplary performance of combat missions and the courage and heroism shown thereby was transformed into the 145th Guards Air Defense Aviation Regiment by the order of the NCO of the USSR No. 299 of 09/10/1943.
  • The 630th Air Defense Fighter Aviation Regiment for the exemplary performance of combat missions and the courage and heroism shown at the same time was transformed into the 147th Guards Air Defense Aviation Regiment by the order of the NCO of the USSR No. 299 of 09/10/1943.

Heroes of the Soviet Union

  •   Afanasyev Vladimir Ilyich , Guard Senior Lieutenant, Deputy Squadron Commander of the 145th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 106th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense Division of the Bologoyevsky Air Defense Division, Air Defense Division was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on March 29, 1944. Gold Star No. 3330.
  •   Vernikov Yakov Ilyich , captain, navigator of the 147th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 106th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense Forces of the 2nd Air Defense Corps of the Northern Air Defense Front On November 18, 1944, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Gold Star No. 5294.
  •   Komarov Viktor Stepanovich , Major, Deputy Commander of the 630th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 106th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense Forces of the Bologoevsky Air Defense Division, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on October 9, 1943. Gold Star No. 1126.
  •   Pichugin Evgeny Ivanovich , junior lieutenant, pilot of the 441st fighter aviation regiment of the 106th fighter aviation division of the air defense of the Bologoevsky air defense division, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union on February 14, 1943. Posthumously.
  •   Yakhnov Gennady Mikhailovich , Major, Deputy Commander of the 33rd Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 106th Fighter Aviation Division of the Air Defense 2nd Air Defense Corps of the Northern Air Defense Front On August 22, 1944, was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
