“Life is a Tale” is the ninth studio album of the musical project “ Communism ”, recorded in May 1989 by Yegor Letov . The album was officially released only 25 years later - in 2014 by the Vygorod label [1] .

Content
Album Concept
The album consists of copyright records in the spoken word genre performed by Letov and Kuzi Uo (K. Ryabinova) and records of famous Soviet hits of the 1950s and 1960s. Spoken-word records and pop song records alternate in the album, such a concept makes it one of the strange albums of the project “Communism” [2] . The poems of Yegor Letov and Konstantin Ryabinov give Soviet hits a new, sometimes ironic, sometimes nightmare sound. So Denis Stupnikov in his review of the album, the neighborhood of Letov’s poem “They Killed Me Here” with the song “ Letka Joke ” compares the effects of Balabanov ’s film “ Cargo 200 ”, the soundtrack of which also used Soviet pop songs [3] .
Oleg “Manager” Sudakov considers the concept of this album to be close to the concept of the previous one, composed of courtyard songs from the album Let it bi [4] .
On the cover of the album, a picture of Lubomir Milenkov “Love balance” was used [3] .
