Biography
At the beginning of World War I he was drafted into the tsarist army. Lieutenant of the imperial army. An active participant in the revolutionary events in Ukraine, was one of the organizers and commander of Student Kuren. During the uprising in January 1918, he commanded students in the struggle for Kiev in the area of the Arsenal plant , where he was seriously wounded. Until March 1918 he was in the hospital. After the cure, the centurion Dovgal continued the organization of Student Smoking.
The commander of the 20th kuren of the 7th brigade of the 3rd Iron Rifle Division of the UPR Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel of the UPR army.
He later emigrated to the border.
He was engaged in editing, was a talented publicist, specialist in economic issues. He entered the history of Ukrainian culture as an editor of magazines and newspapers: Nova Ukraina (Prague, 1925-1929), Forward (Uzhgorod, 1932-1938), Nova Svoboda ( Uzhgorod , 1938-1939), Dozvilla ( Berlin- Plauen, 1942-1945), The Word (Regensburg, 1945-1946).
