Maria Crater ( Latin Mary ) is a small impact crater in the southeastern part of the Sea of Clarity on the visible side of the Moon . The name was given in the English form of the Jewish female name and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.

Crater Description
In the immediate vicinity of Maria Crater, there are crater-like formations - Jerich , Robert , Osiris and Isis ; as well as the Marcello furrow ; Reiko Fissure and Bridgette Crater Chain .
Other nearby neighbors of the crater are the Dawes Crater in the southwest; Abetti Crater in the north; Fabroni crater in the east and Beketov crater in the southeast. In the northeast of Maria Crater is the peak of Argea [1] .
Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 0.53 km [2] , depth 127 m> [3] .
The crater has a regular circular cup shape.
