Augusta Magdalena of Hesse-Darmstadt ( German: Auguste Magdalene von Hessen-Darmstadt ; March 6, 1657 , Darmstadt - September 1, 1674 , Darmstadt ) - Hessian princess, poetess and translator .

Augusta Magdalena is the daughter of Landgrave Ludwig VI of Hesse-Darmstadt and his wife Maria Elizabeth of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp , daughter of Duke Frederick III of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp . Like her father and sister Magdalena Sibylla , Augusta Magdalena was fond of literary work: she translated the psalms of David , wrote a poetry collection “Door to German Poetry” ( Die Thür zur deutschen Poesie ). She died at 17 and was buried in the Darmstadt City Church.
